Andrea Cohen is a social entrepreneur dedicated to transforming the way care is delivered to seniors and their families. A visionary leader and nationally recognized expert in home care delivery, Andrea believes that choice and control are core values for aging boomers who do not hesitate to create their own resources, customize their own solutions and actively participate in their own care. Charged with commitment and insight born of personal caregiving experience, Andrea leverages her business accomplishments to create a powerful force for social change. She was elected by her peers to the Board of the Home Care Association of America and is the co-chair of the Board of the Caregiver Action Network—the nation’s leading family caregiver organization. Most recently, Andrea received the CVS Health 2022 Female Leader of the Year Award at Gillette Stadium by Robert Kraft and Karen Lynch.
Rosanne Corcoran, Director of Content Strategy and Host of Daughterhood The Podcast
Rosanne Corcoran’s journey into caregiving began with a dementia diagnosis of her fiercely independent mother, opening the door to a twelve year journey in sandwich caregiving. After experiencing first-hand the stress and isolation caregiving brings along with the lack of meaningful resources for caregivers, Rosanne created Daughterhood the Podcast: For Caregivers. As host of the podcast, Rosanne brings her authentic voice to each conversation and discusses challenges caregivers face with experts in all fields. She has been a Daughterhood Circle Leader since 2019 and has been featured in CNN Health, The Philadelphia Inquirer, Barron’s, Next Avenue and others. She also received caregiving.com‘s Visionary Award in 2021.
Susan Rowe, Director of Programs and Technology
Susan Rowe was a caregiver for her mother and has been leading programs at Daughterhood since its inception in 2015. She has a background in Information Technology and leading church congregations in worship. Susan serves on the front lines of Daughterhood’s service to its community, bringing a strong sense of empathy and a belief in building an authentic community of, “friends helping friends”. Susan is also an award-winning songwriter and has composed the music for Daughterhood The Podcast and the quarterly Daughterhood Policy Podcast.
Robert Shalett, Director of Communications
Robert Shalett is a communications strategist who has worked with and for several healthcare and philanthropic organizations. Robert sees caregiving as a universal concern for families and those in the workforce. He believes that increased attention to caregivers and caregiving will uncover tremendous possibilities for more rewarding lives and careers. Robert is father to two wonderful daughters, husband to an amazing wife, and son to two well-traveled parents.
Nicole Smith, Training and Events Coordinator
Nicole Smith is an author, speaker, and elder care advocate. Her business background blossomed through her volunteer work with the global literacy organization Room to Read. Nicole became immersed in the dementia dynamic when her mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2021. She makes time for self care to manage her space in the sandwich generation. Jean Ross, Advisor
Jean Ross is a nurse who has spent 20 years working in various roles on the frontlines of healthcare. Jean knows care is only getting more difficult for families, healthcare practitioners, and community-based organizations to coordinate together. She is the co-founder of Primary Record, an application built to replace the three-ring binder and file folders families rely on today to share their health story. Jean is the mother to three sons, a wife to an emergency room physician, and the eldest daughter to two amazing, stubborn parents.
Taylor Bussiere, Operations Manager
Taylor Bussiere is an experienced manager who always puts people first. In her role as Operations Manager at Daughterhood, Taylor oversees day-to-day operations of all aspects of the organization including Circle support, newsletter production and social media posting. Her experience caring for several family members has provided insight into what caregivers need and want. For the past decade, Taylor has served in the United States Army and currently holds the rank of Staff Sergeant. In that role, Taylor holds accountability for the health, wellbeing, and professional growth of over 30 soldiers. Taylor is a bonus mom to twin boys, and a dog mom to their family pup, Oakley.
